Matrix Digital Arts Announces New Education Fund At Expo

During the Quinceanera Expo held on Sunday, July 25th at the San Antonio Event Center, Matrix Digital Arts kicked off a new promotion to help fund the future education of all Quinceanera and Sweet 16 Girls. With thousands in attendance, visitors learned that Matrix Digital Arts will return fifty percent of all on-line sales of photos for the Quince that occur in a thirty day period. A check representing half of all on-line sales from friends, guests, etc, will be presented to the father of the young lady as a contribution to her education fund. "Quinceaneras and Sweet 16 parties are held by proud parents at great expense", Michael Holeda, co-founder, remarked. "So we would like to make a contribution to her future education in appreciation of being selected as their photographer of this very important event in her life."

The Rush For Senior Portraits

The last couple weeks has seen a flood of requests at MDAP for senior portraits.

With graduations beginning in a week or two, many parents suddenly realized time was running out to get their son or daughter's portrait completed. The emails and phone calls started coming in.

"All of our shoots are done on location." said Michael Holeda. "Although we do receive a request from time to time for the standard cap & gown graduation portrait, but most of our clients want the new look for senior portraiture."

There are the usual popular places our photographers travel to here in San Antonio. From the Japanese Tea Gardens to the River Walk. But the photographers at Matrix Digital Arts like to seek out new and exciting locations, something fresh and different. Recently, a shoot was conducted at Randolph Air Force Base at the skate park. Another shoot was held in the countryside in a field full of antique farm implements and an old pick up truck.

Stay tuned for 2011! New locations a more creative styles are on the horizon.

Texas State Championship - Austin

We recently had the opportunity to shoot at the Texas State Championship in Austin. This was a tremendous event for us in many ways.

With around 500 athletes, Level 6 or higher, our photographers were able to catch the best in every athlete. David Racino decided he wanted to focus on the vault event. Many photographers at gymnastics competition will shy away from shooting this because it is the most challenging. David nailed the shots!
Rusty Ray, another one of our talented photographers concentrated on the P-Bars and High Bar. Like David, he too came up with many great shots of the competing athletes.
We want to thank the great folks of Star Gymnastics of Austin for asking us to shoot this event. We received many complements to our staff of photographers, and also requests to shoot future events, including regionals next year. As of today, we are presently booked for four state, regional and national events for 2011. This success is attributed to the professionalism of our event photographers, Erik Gustafson, David Racino, and Rusty Ray. Of course, we can't forget to include Janice Borgfeld and Eric Aaron. They were busy answering questions from customers at the sales booth, and communicating to our photographers on the floor via our wireless radios.

Our shoot at this year's Houston National Invitational was our largest ever effort. Over 2500 athletes, with as many as 22 athletes competing at the same time! With 10 photographers, thousands and thousands of images were taken. Fourteen hour days, but nobody complained. A tremendous experience for all of us. As a direct result of our team's professionalism, we have already begun to receive calls to shoot other events. Next: Texas State Championship in Austin!
