Texas State Championship - Austin

We recently had the opportunity to shoot at the Texas State Championship in Austin. This was a tremendous event for us in many ways.

With around 500 athletes, Level 6 or higher, our photographers were able to catch the best in every athlete. David Racino decided he wanted to focus on the vault event. Many photographers at gymnastics competition will shy away from shooting this because it is the most challenging. David nailed the shots!
Rusty Ray, another one of our talented photographers concentrated on the P-Bars and High Bar. Like David, he too came up with many great shots of the competing athletes.
We want to thank the great folks of Star Gymnastics of Austin for asking us to shoot this event. We received many complements to our staff of photographers, and also requests to shoot future events, including regionals next year. As of today, we are presently booked for four state, regional and national events for 2011. This success is attributed to the professionalism of our event photographers, Erik Gustafson, David Racino, and Rusty Ray. Of course, we can't forget to include Janice Borgfeld and Eric Aaron. They were busy answering questions from customers at the sales booth, and communicating to our photographers on the floor via our wireless radios.

Our shoot at this year's Houston National Invitational was our largest ever effort. Over 2500 athletes, with as many as 22 athletes competing at the same time! With 10 photographers, thousands and thousands of images were taken. Fourteen hour days, but nobody complained. A tremendous experience for all of us. As a direct result of our team's professionalism, we have already begun to receive calls to shoot other events. Next: Texas State Championship in Austin!

Time for the Houston National Invitational

The team at Matrix Digital Arts is preparing for another important event, The Houston National Invitational. This year, we have been asked to shoot an additional event, with 1500 athletes, many past, present, and future Olympians. We will have ten photographers on the floor capturing the important competitive events of these young men and women from all over the world. Participants will have the opportunity to have their images applied to a special commemorative poster we commissioned to be designed for this event. The image on the right is our 39x80" floor banner.

This year, our photographers and crew will be wearing wireless headsets to ensure our ability to keep in touch with each other and communicate with the sales area.

Additionally, we will be launching our new storefront with a completely new line of products the parents will be able to choose from, including the ability to design their own poster on-line.

High School Senior Portraits - Schedule Now!

Matrix Digital Arts & Photography has added a new line of photography service to its menu. We now shoot high school senior photos. These aren’t your typical year book photos. The photos are built around the personality and life of the individual high school senior and shot on location at the site of your choice. Some of our favorite locales for the ladies are the San Antonio River Walk, the Tea Gardens, and the McNay. Next month we are doing a senior shoot at a skate park at a military base for a senior that loves skate boarding.

We have developed 3 very competitive packages for you to choose from with the option of adding additional high quality photographic products.

MDAP To Hold It's First Annual Christmas Dinner

MDAP will host it's first annual Christmas Dinner at the newly opened Fogo de Chao in San Antonio on December 11th. "With the economy being the worse in decades," Michael Holeda says, " we have still experienced a tremendous growth in 2009." Michael, co-founder of Matrix Digital Arts wants to show appreciation to MDAP's staff by holding it's first annual dinner. "Our team has worked hard, and because of their dedication, professionalism, and expertise, they should to be recognized," Michael said.
